Forensic psychological evaluations typically take, at minimum, 12 to 20 hours, which include: Review of Records/Discovery, Forensic Clinical Interview(s), Collateral Interviews (if applicable), Psychological and Forensic Testing, Scoring/Interpretation of Testing, Research, Report Writing, Consultation with Attorney(s), and Testimony/Deposition (if applicable). Each case varies in terms of the volume of discovery/records and the time it takes a client to complete testing. More complex evaluations, such as independent medical evaluations can take 20-30 hours or more to complete. Following an initial consultation by phone, a retainer of 20 hours ($7,000) is customarily submitted along with the fee agreement of this office. Evaluations and/or consultation that may not require this amount of time may be offered a reduced retainer fee of 10 hours ($3,500). All retainer payments must be submitted, along with the fee agreement, in order to begin work on a case. If services exceed the initial retainer, monthly invoices will be sent to counsel, and are due upon receipt. Failure to complete payment each month will result in the termination of work and/or cancellation of any scheduled appointments, pending account payment. Unused retainer balances are returned as credit.
